The Scottish capital Edinburgh is set to enjoy a brand new attraction this summer. The construction of a 60-metre high ferris wheel is a sign of the city`s intention to make the most of the millions of visitors the UK will welcome this year as part of the London Olympics and Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The structure, already being dubbed the ‘Edinburgh Eye`, will be based on its London counterpart and provide amazing panoramic views of the beautiful, historic surroundings. The project, which will be entirely funded by private company Great City Attractions, is expected to bring in around £1.4 million to the city during its operation. Visitors will have to act fast to enjoy the wheel, though, as it will only be a temporary feature and dismantled in October.
The ferris wheel will not be around for long, so take the opportunity to book
hotels in Edinburgh and make the most of this fabulous city centre attraction while you can.
