Tickets are still available to catch the modern dance company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater perform a series of dates in the Catalonian capital next month.
Made up of 32 dancers as well as artistic director Robert Battle and associate artistic director Masazumi Chaya, the group was established in March 1958, and have since become ambassadors of the African American dance culture. They will be performing at the Gran Teatre del Liceu on 13, 14 and 15 of September.
Audiences can expect an eclectic mix of choreography which fuses hip-hop with Caribbean sensuality and contemporary dance hailing from the group`s African roots, a style which has forever changed the perception of American modern dance.
In a city that boasts a myriad of cultural buildings, activities and restaurants, a night out at the theatre could represent a great activity for any of those enjoying a relaxing European city break to one of the fine hotels in Barcelona
