While Edinburgh is famous for its hugely popular city marathon, there is another iconic race taking place in the Scottish capital which is garnering popularity.
Now in its third year, the Edinburgh Kilomarathon has been regularly growing in interest with over 10,000 people taking part during its short history. It presents three different distances, looking to suit all abilities of runners. The 13.1km is the perfect step up for serious runners looking to build their stamina towards a conventional marathon, while the 6.55k is on offer for those who aren`t quite at that stage. There is even an event for the younger ones, with a distance of 2.62k more than enough to give them a great introduction into long distance running.
The Edinburgh Kilomarathon is to be held on the 30 September, mostly run on the picturesque city cycle network. With entries starting at just £7, it`s a great event for the family to get involved in should you be staying in any of the
hotels in Edinburgh over the period.
