Two pandas that have proven to be an extremely popular attraction since their arrival at Edinburgh Zoo have been recognised for their services to tourism with a special new award.

The loveable pair arrived in the country at the end of last year, and they have since been seen by an estimated 500,000 people, enjoying a huge amount of attention since relocating from their homeland in China.

One of the Scottish Thistle Awards was presented by VisitScotland chair Mike Cantlay and collected by zoo executive Chris West on behalf of the pandas, with West commenting that he was sure the site`s two most famous residents would especially appreciate that the award was made out of bamboo!

Tian Tian and Yang Guang are undoubtedly two of the highlights of any sightseeing trip to the Scottish capital now, so why not look into booking a stay at one of the affordable hotels in Edinburgh soon and arrange to see these beautiful animals for yourself?
