The Eiffel Tower has beaten famous monuments across the continent and been declared the most valuable monument in Europe, according to a new study.
Valued at £343 billion to the French economy, it is six times the worth of its nearest competitor – the Colloseum in Rome – and equates to a fifth of the country`s entire annual gross domestic product.
The study was conducted by Italy`s Monza and Brianza Chamber of Commerce, which based its findings on the ‘image, brand and visibility` by cross-referencing 10 different parameters from a range of analysts and statistics bodies.
Europe`s most visited monument, the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 and regularly attracts approximately eight million tourists a year. A major part of the city`s famous skyline, come and check it out for yourself whilst enjoying a break in one of the fine
Paris hotels dotted around the city, the perfect base for a memorable European break.
