Ever wonder what is behind that fantastic feeling a warm cuppa can provide after a long day at work? An exhibition has opened in Paris that looks to enlighten tea-lovers across the world by highlighting the refreshment`s history and charting how it conquered the world.

Taking place at the Guimet Museum in the French capital – an institution that deals exclusively in Asia`s cultural history – until 7 January, the exhibition is just one of many taking place in the cultural capital of Europe over the coming months and represents a great day out suitable for any of those enjoying a break in one of the excellent hotels in Paris over the coming months.

The display concentrates on the origins of tea in China and includes exhibits such as paintings from the National Palace Museum in Tapei, Taiwan and sections displaying utensils, manuscripts, calligraphy, paintings and rare books.

Visitors can also sample some specially created ‘Guimet tea` as part of the exhibition. Come and check it out whilst taking a memorable European break to the city.
