British Singer songwriter Joan Armatrading has announced she plans to perform in Dublin this September, stopping off in the Irish capital as part of her extensive 2012 European tour.

Originally born on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, the star is highly regarded by many in the music industry, boasting 17 studio albums in a career that spans over 40 years. Armatrading was the first ever UK artist to debut at number one in the Billboard blues charts, as well as the first to be nominated for a Grammy in the Blues category. Despite never reaching the coveted top spot in the UK album charts, she has featured in the top ten on numerous occasions with releases like `Show Some Emotion`, `Me Myself I` and `Walk Under Ladders`.

Joan Armatrading will feature at the city`s Vicar Street on 22 September. Tickets are still available but look to sell out fast, so if you`re interested be sure to book your place right away. Why not unite the performance with a stay in one of the hotels in Dublin? It could create the perfect atmosphere for a truly memorable break in the Irish capital
