Paris`s iconic Musee d`Orsay museum and gallery will open its doors on 5 April to an exhibition chronicling the works of one of the 19th century`s most important artists, Edouard Manet.
Lasting until July 3, ‘Manet, the Man who Invented Modernity` will explore not just the painter`s amazing pieces, but also the historical and political context of his hugely influential career.
The Musee d`Orsay does house a permanent collection of some of Manet`s most well-known paintings, but this extensive and unique display promises to teach visitors more about the relationships he shared with other artists and writers, as well as his highly experimental techniques.
Billed as the first major Manet exhibition in nearly thirty years, ‘the Man who Invented Modernity` is seen as a must-visit for any serious fans of fine art.
If you are interested in seeing Manet`s greatest works in person, book a stay at one of the many brilliant
hotels in Paris and treat yourself to a truly cultural break.
