Legendary American vibraphone player and funk, soul, and jazz composer Roy Ayers is heading to the French capital next month for a performance as part of the Jazz Villette festival.
The soulful smoothie, who is regarded by many as one of the pioneers of jazz-funk, will be playing at La Cabaret Sauvage in Paris on Saturday 8 September.
He is responsible for much-sampled classics such as ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine`, ‘Mystic Voyage` and ‘We Live In Brooklyn`, and was featured on the fifth single by Whitney Houston, ‘Love Will Save the Day`.
He has also produced an album with singer Sylvia Striplin entitled ‘Give Me Your Love`, which has gradually become a rare groove favourite, after initially failing on the R&B charts.
Just one of many fantastic live music performances taking place in the French capital, it could represent a great night out for anybody enjoying a stay in one of the idyllic
Paris hotels next month.
