Following Andy Murray`s dramatic and amazing run to the Wimbledon final this year, floodlights and new sports facilities are to be installed at Edinburgh`s largest outdoor tennis facility to meet the increasing demand of young Grand Slam hopefuls wanting to become the next Andy Murray.
The Meadows` courts will be lit up at night to allow tennis games to continue long into the evening, whilst Edinburgh Leisure will revamp the current changing rooms and introduce a sandwich bar to help cater for players onsite.
Currently costing £9.50 an hour for non-members or £4.80 for junior competitors, the developments have been praised by Tennis Scotland, with board member Dave Macdermid saying they were ‘delighted` with the improvements.
