American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist Patti Smith is to perform in the Catalonian capital next month as part of an extensive world tour.
The gifted musician, who is considered a pioneer of the New York City punk rock movement, will be performing at the Palau de la Můsica Catalana on Monday 19 November.
Often referred to as the ‘Godmother of Punk`, she is perhaps best known for her debut album Horses, which is regularly cited as one of the greatest albums of all time, making number 44 on Rolling Stone magazine`s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Her most widely known song is ‘Because the Night`, which was co-written by ‘the boss` Bruce Springstein and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978.
