The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is set to return this August, announcing there will a record number of shows staged for what is among the most popular events in the Scottish capital.
With 2,965 shows confirmed for this year`s event, it`s a 6% increase on last year. It`s a surprising development, with many fearing the Fringe would be deeply affected by a 10 day overlap with the Olympic Games in London.
The line-up brings a scintillating line up of acts from a wide spectrum of performing arts, including comedy, dance, theatre, music and musical, just some of the acts already confirmed to feature are comedians Mark Watson, Sean Hughes and Henning When.
A brand new spoken word category has been drafted into this year`s affair, with poetry, oratory, storytelling and reportage giving a fantastic dynamic.
