Fans of classic cinema will be delighted to hear that Franco-German broadcaster Arte is collaborating with Paris City Hall to come up with a smartphone app which helps users interact with famous movie locations.
Called Cinema City, the app is backed by the Paris tourism office and will help visitors find locations from their favourite films, such as Woody Allen`s ‘Midnight in Paris` or Martin Scorcese`s ‘Hugo`.
The move to create the app was made after a recent study suggested one of the main motivations for people to visit the city was to see in person the scenes made famous on the big screen.
Available in five languages, the app is geo-activated and when in the spot where your favourite scene was filmed, you would be able to watch it on your device. You can then film your own version of the scene and there is also a game for users to enjoy.
Should you be planning a trip to one of the fine
Paris hotels this year, be sure to download the app and explore your favourite movie scenes throughout the French capital.
