Guest rating: | 28/11/2010 | | "Hotel good - directions incorrect!" | | | | In Dublin a SATNAV cannot use post codes and it would not accept the hotel name or Newland`s Cross so we were very thankful that you had enclosed directions from the airport. Following these we exited at Junction 7 as directed (names were not easy to locate!) only to discover after a telephone call to the hotel that it should have been Junction 9. We were travelling on Friday due to arrive at 4.30 approx. This error meant we did not arrive at the xxxxx xxxxx until almost 6 pm. It is too late for us now, but we suggest you alter your directions before some other poor traveller gets stuck in rush hour traffic! At least the hotel receptions were helpful when we made 3 phone calls for directions and the hotel was good when we got there too.

Guest rating: | 23/9/2010 | | "Handy location on outskirts of Dublin" | | | | Welcoming and helpful staff and wonderful food! Very comfortable room and felt secure due to the key use of lift to room floors. Entrance to hotel could be easier and the website shows directions as junction 7 off M50 when it is actually junction 9. All in all would recommend this hotel and use it again if in the Dublin area.

Guest rating: | 4/7/2010 | | "Don`t go to the xxxxx xxxxx" | | | | The air conditioning wasn`t working, the breakfast was really bad, burnt toast, stale food, all for eur20.00. We ordered a double room but got two single beds pushed together. We complained when we were leaving and the manager was very bad at with customer service. The only positive things were that the staff were friendly (apart from the manager), and the dinner was nice. I`ve stayed in 3 star hotels that were better. Overall, I`d say best go somewhere else.

Guest rating: | 26/5/2010 | | "No place for an hotel" | | | | Set on the motorway directly behind the Esso filling station and 30 minutes drive from the city center this hotel is in the worst position possible.Once there your trapped unless you want to negotiate spaghetti junction. You have to put your room card in to use! the lift which is a hit and miss operation they say its for security but you can just walk up the stairs

Guest rating: | 23/3/2010 | | "Fantastic comfortable hotel 30 mins out of Dublin. Good 15 min walk from tram but it ran v well. " | | | | The hotel was brilliant with helpful and pleasant staff. Good quality accomodation and food. the breakfast was very good value at 13 euro per head. The hotel ran a curtesy bus to the tram stop which was a good 15 min walk away however this needs to run till at least 7 pm on Sat and Sun as our party felt it stopped too early for those guests who wanted to make the most of the city centre.

Guest rating: | 23/3/2010 | | "Reception" | | | | I found both receptionists to be `cold` when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. Neither gave any welcoming smile or took time to ask us if we wanted to know anything. We were merely given the key!I asked a chap who is somehow connected with the hotel (wearing a dark suit) for info regarding getting into the city centre and all he could say was "I don`t work here".We were only made aware by a more helpful receptionist yesterday morning that we could leave our bags at the Arlington. We would have changed our plans sooner had we known this.Overall I found the hotel very `clinical` from the initial greeting to the lobby area and the staff overall.

Guest rating: | 19/3/2010 | | "-" | | | | The hotel was lovely, however it was too far from the centre of Dublin. Next time we go we will choose a hotel nearer the centre. Warning to other people travelling to dublin it costs about £5 for a pint £10.50 for fish & chips, Breakfast about 8 quid, soft drinks about a £1.00. Take lots of money. Nice city people lovely. Temple bar area nice. Do the guided bus tour make sure its the one with the talk. Don`t do the guiness it wasn`t worth the money. Overall would go back but with 2 to 3 times the money.

Guest rating: | 4/12/2009 | | "A bit out of the way." | | | | The Hotel was very pleasant but next time we would prefer to be in the city centre - although we are now very familiar with the LUAS tram system. No complaints other than it was a bit out of town.

Guest rating: | 2/12/2009 | | " xxxxx Dublin" | | | | A smart Hotel with a comfortable room, seemed quite new. The staff were friendly and the facilities good. I would not recommend the rooms for the visually impaired as the lighting was poor and the tea/coffee making arrangements would not be suitable. There was plenty of parking. It was about half an hour from the city centre.

Guest rating: | 30/11/2009 | | "Lovely hotel but location not great" | | | | The hotel was very nice, staff were proffessional and helpful, room was large and comfortable. However it was in the middle of no-where! About a ten/fifteen minute walk to the tram station, then another 25 minutes on tram to get into town. Taxis were about 30 euro from town which you need after 11:30pm when the trams stop for the evening. So if you`re going for a dublin city break, you might want somewhere a bit closer! 2 drinks in the hotel cost us nearly 20 euro, but this is actually quite cheap compared to the Temple Bar area in Dublin!

Guest rating: | 29/11/2009 | | "excellent, clean, modern hotel with very attentive staff" | | | | Whist situated slightly out of Dublin the hotel was well served with public transport, with the hotel shuttle bus taking us to the tram. Nothing was to much trouble and the hotel even provided a coach to take us to and from Croake Park, where we watched Ireland beat South Africa unfortunately `The Cornish Pirates` lost to Leinster the previous day. The hotel facilities including the food were excellent (in particular the breakfasts!) and we were amazed at how quiet the bedrooms were. We will go again!

Guest rating: | 24/11/2009 | | "4* try 10*" | | | | The staff were amazingly helpful upon our very wet arrival. They allowed us to check in early and sent a porter up to collect our coats, who took them away to be dried. The service for anything requested was second to none. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed to hand. The hotel was lovely and quiet so we were able to sleep soundly each night. This was indeed a most enjoyable stay and if ever back in Dublin will definately be our first choice for hotel accomodation.

Guest rating: | 21/11/2009 | | "Very far out of the city and not up to scratch" | | | | This is a four star hotel that does not live up to expectations. The good points:1. The staff are very friendly and attentive.2. The decor is to a high standard (as expected for a new hotel). The bad:1. The hotel isn`t ten minutes from the Luas tram station - it`s a 20 minute walk along a busy motorway!2. No transfer to the Luas was offered or even mentioned - I don`t think it runs.3. The literature insisted snacks were served until 22.30 - when I asked for one at 22.05 I was told the kitchen was closed.4. The beds are really uncomfortable.5. The plumbing is problematic - the radiators knock and the toilet kept running until hit!The hotel needs to be more honest in its literature - it`s misleading at best at the moment.

Guest rating: | 16/11/2009 | | "-" | | | | They kindly upgraded us to a triple over a double because there were three of us, but the hotel is definitely not near Dublin and it is a bit of a walk (especially when it is raining) to the closest bus and train station. Also, my sheets had coffee stains on them when we arrived.

Guest rating: | 8/10/2009 | | "friendly helpfull staff, very clean.... very good value for the money we paid" | | | | Would have given an overall excellent for our stay but was dissapointed that hotel`s description `couple of minutes walk from Luas tram` was not actually true.... more like 10-15mins brisk walk. Hotel does provide shuttle to tram but not back.... which makes for a very unpleasant walk in heavy rain!! Didn`t eat in the hotel but Joel`s was excellent!

Guest rating: | 4/10/2009 | | "Quite hotel" | | | | The hotel is out of the city but there is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the tram station where you can get into the city within 20 mins , more information would help guests of the hotel get from dublin airport to the hotel as in get the airport bus to the red cow stop for 5 euros instead of a taxi that costs 40 euors and then the hotel shuttle bus can pick up guests from the red cow tram station, this would be of great help to everyone who is staying in the hotel
