Staff friendly and helpful. Well situated for most of the sights. Breakfast good. However, the double room was small and very shabby as was the bathroom. Toilet not working properly - all the plumbing needs updating. Fire alarm kept going off. Problems with phone in room which kept ringing for no reason. Will not be staying here again.

"The location is its strongest point."
No tea/coffee facilities in the room which was disappointing especially after a long journey and when you had been out for a long day. It was available at the bar.. The television did not work as it had a low signal,the bath had lost its enamal and the curtains need a wash. The traffic noise at the front is ear splitting. Breakfast was plentiful but all processed food. On the plus side the beds were very clean, lots of towels and hot water the situation was very central for restaurants/ sight seeing and the staff were very polite. It is a tired hotel and I would not return..

"A great location - walking distance from most things but a couple of disappointments"
A four star hotel but there was no kettle in the room - surely a normal requirement these days? We had requested a double but had two singles pushed together and this was not comfortable as one was slightly higher than the other - we were told that they did not have double beds.The breakfast was OK but nothing cooked available unless you include cold boiled eggs.It was January so maybe service was on minimum. The staff were pleasant enough and the location made up for most things..
