Likewise the chef never eats their own evening meal. A little bit of attention to detail could have made all the difference. The staff tried their best, were helpful, and it is in a great location, but our room had a list price of ?520 a night with zero view + ?38 for two breakfasts. If we had paid anything like this I would have been livid. I have slept in better 3*, and would never go back.

The hotel is undergoing renovation (June `10) and so parts are unfinished, but work is generally discreet although there was a smell of fresh paint. Our room was large and double-aspect (a superior double) overlooking the internal courtyard and was generally quiet. Although well-furnished and spacious the room was in need of renovation, with marks on the walls and carpet. It is not cheap, but the location alone made it worth the extra. If you want a top class hotel in one of the best areas of Paris then this fits the bill.

Rooms a good size, clean, tidy and relaxing. Breakfast good with both hot and cold food. Close to shops as well as restaurants and cafes (which were not over priced). Great value for money. If I go back to Paris I would stay here. Really enjoyed it.

The furnishings were shoddy and the bathrooms poor, with mildew in one of the baths. For £200 per night per room we expected much better. Checking out was difficult and even when we checked in at 4pm one of the rooms was not ready. Really poor and we would certainly not stay there again. Linda Banner
