"clean boutique hotel."

Centrally positioned with walking distance to la ramblas. Great weekend escape. Really liked the accommodation. Free wi fi. Gym and sauna included.

"Loved the Pool & seating area on the rooftop"

Good Hotel, clean & well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Reception area appeared very dark due to the large wooden doors leading into the Hotel, which also made the very pleasant bar & seating area appear dimly lit. Overall a very pleasant few days in Barcelona & I would stay in the Hotel again.

"Perfect location"

This hotel was far enough away from the main sites for it to be quiet, yet close enough to walk to most. There are numerous cafés and restaurants very nearby. The staff were very polite and helpful and spoke in English when our Spanish failed. The hotel could`ve benefitted from a few cupboard doors being tightened, but we couldn`t complain at the cleanliness. The roof top terrace was just perfect! We would return here and recommend it.

"fabulously situated hotel, close to passeig de gracia and all lovely coffee shops, restaurants/bars"

We have just returned from a 4 night break here and were impressed by the location and the quality of the hotel and its staff. Reception staff were charming and polite and very knowledgeable. The room was ample for the amount of time we spent in it, although 105 was a noisy room due to being near the road. Try and get a room on say the 4th floor, much better I would think early morning! I will definitely stay here again - lovely hotel

"Perfect location, friendly atmosphere."

Loved the place, was almost ideal. Concierge a fantastic help. Must however say that my room was much smaller than those pictured and had no window.

"Welcoming, friendly and relaxed"

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. The staff couldn`t be friendlier, and were efficient and helpful. The rooms were clean and of a good standard. We loved the bar and pool on the roof. The hotel is a few minutes walk away from the `Diagonal` Metro station which quickly connects you to the whole of Barcelona

Excellent standard - room tidy & clean & ovely decor. However we accepted an Alternative room when checking in, as we were told would be bright during the day as at the front of the hotel, however was very noisy at night as just above main entrance of hotel. Also we were attracted to hotel America because there was a swimming pool, however the swimming pool turned out to be too small to have a decent swim in.

From check in to check out the staff were extremely helpful, the hotel facilities were excellent, the room was amazing and can`t believe how big the bed was, very modern, i loved the bathroon, all in all i really enjoyed my stay and would definately stay there again and reccommend to anyone wanting to go to Barcelona.

"roadworks outside hotel very noisy"

Overall the hotel was very good, the room was of good size as was the bathroom. The shower could have been more powerful but was adequate... good location and excellent terrace on top of hotel.

"Great place to stay"

Terrific staff with excellant English skills. Close to Metro station. Great breakfast facility. Terrific deck terace with pool and bar.avoid the Mediteranean Resturaunt around the corner - lousy food and little English.

"One of the best hotels in Barcelona"

Perfect location, staff were more than helpful, loved it! The fact that the road outside was closed was even more of a bonus as the street was very quiet, even when the work was ongoing. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

"30 mins from airport 30 euros friendly & helpful reception roof terrace and pool fab"

5 mins walk from diagonal metro, 25 mins to Ramblas wonderful stay although bar prices in hotel quite pricey 9 euros for a malibu & lemonade!

The location of the hotel is within walking distance of the main tourist areas in Barcelona. Unfortunately, there were major road-works outside when we were there- not the hotels fault. All-in-all I would go back to Hotel America for another visit to Barcelona!

"Great hotel - great location - great staff!"

This hotel was luck of the draw to be honest - but it more than exceeded our expectations. It was in a lovely location - near plenty of good restaurants. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean and modern. The roof top bar and pool was great to relax on.....nothing bad to say really - apart from the construction directly outside which was noisy early in the morning...other than that great!

"Location was excellent for exploring Barcelona and near to public transport links."

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of April 2011 and I had asked for a quiet room as the reviews I had read mentioned the noise. However the road outside was closed for the duration of out stay so the hotel was very quiet - in fact it was virtually hidden behind the construction works. It looks like a major project that could go on for a long time making the area free from traffic noise but not very pleasing to the eye.

"great stay,excellent location "

had a very enjoyable stayat hotel america ,it was a good base for getting around to see barca,was in a great area to go out and eat with good restraunts at a good prices compared to the rambla and the centre which is a total ripp off ,paid 8 euro for a beer down there.is a good 20 walk to the centre only 7 euro in a taxi but is a nice walk,only bad point was the prices of food and bev on hotel roof top. wd have been better if cheaper as it is very nice

"friendly hotel in good position to city centre."

The hotel is well positioned and although there is road works outside at the moment it didn`t detract from our stay. , the staff were all very helpful and friendly. i would stay at this hotel again . The roof top terrace is fantastic.

"Fine service in a great location"

I can warmly recommend Hotel America. I stayed over the New Year 2010-11 weekend, and was overall very impressed with the standard of the service received.The location was very convenient, and the levels of customer care displayed by the staff were exemplary - they were genuinely friendly and funny, without appearing false. In particular, Javier and Christian were very helpful.
