"Good practical accommodation in a central location."

Most importantly for a celebratory weekend, everything worked from an administrative perspective. Our bookings for the hotel and theatre went smoothly and I would have complete confoidence in using the service again. The hotel had the right amount of luxury and was welcoming. My only (slight) criticism would be that the dining room seemed overwhelmed on Sunday morning by the attendance at breakfast. That said, the food was good adn the staff very helpful.

Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was good. Unfortunately our room was extremely small with one side of the double bed against the wall. After our last stay through you at The Charing Cross Hotel this experience was disappointing.

I have booked with Hoteldirect before but never booked the unamed hotel package before. But the result was excellent and would recommend it to other customers

The Hotel was easy to find. The staff friendly and welcoming. It was clean and tidy. The only thing I found strange was the very short flex on the kettle in the room that would only just reach the socket! Breakfast was superb and of course the warm cookie on arrival lovely. I would stay there again and would recommend it.

"Great location and comfort"

This will be hard to beat for the price, given both the West End location and the room. We were offered an upgrade on arrival for a small fee (£20) which I would recommend. The in-house bar is perhaps a little more pricey, but breakfast is excellent.

"lovely hotel"

the room was extremely comfortable, clean and spacious. the bed was huge. it was great to have tea and coffee facilities in the room, many hotels seem to have discontinued this but it was a definate bonus for me. the staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgable about the area. we were given a map and shown exactly where to walk. we had a really lovely weekend - thank you.

"Comfortable, clean and friendly"

We had a great stay. Although we had the noise protecting glass missing from one window, we were moved straight away with no fuss. In fact we were up graded. Good room service and breakfast buffet. Would definitely book again, its such a good location.

No complaints other than the service in the lounge/bar spoiled the overall experience. The service was painfully slow - over 40 mins for tea/coffee and a sandwich. The staff had no customer service skills, were hopeless, and bordering on rude. The duty manager acted quickly when I asked to speak to him, but unfortunately, if there`s one thing I will remember about the stay it will be the service in the bar.

"Great location...staff not great"

Felt very new and clean. Location was excellent but car parking, although immediately opposite, is NOT DISCOUNTED for hotel guests as advised by the hotel. Breakfast was ok but breakfast staff were neither friendly nor attentive. Other than those moans it was very good.

"Very good food, friendly helpful staff and comfortable beds."

We have rated it good and not excellent because there were a couple of minor things detracting from top score. The ensuite did not appear to have a working extractor and the sink was blocked. We asked for extra tea and milk and reluctantly we received raspberry and cranberry flavour and 3 milk cartons that smelled iffy.

"nice clean hotel"

hotel is nice and close to theatre land, hotel is quiet and only a ten minute walk from the show.Breakfast was also included and very good, full english and continental.The hotel was very quiet, hot cookies on arrival, which was a nice touch.Only small complaint i had was that there was no hair-dryer in the room, but after phoning reception, one was soon brought up to me. turns out somebody had stolen it.We would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to our friends.

"Perfectly situated."

In very good location for theatres and restaurants. Had to wait for rooms to be ready, but excellent service thereafter, staff friendly and eager to please, spotlessly clean and a very good buffet breakfast. Would definitely use this hotel again.

"Superb service. Wonderful breakfast."

I booked 2 standard double rooms. They were very different! The bed was against the wall in one and no space to move it. The other room was bigger, you could walk right round the bed. Both rooms were adequate for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was super. There was something for everyone; full english, continental, cereals, fresh fruit, need I go on. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"great location, tiny room"

Positive points are location and staff, both excellent. Negative was the tiny room with just enough room to walk around the queen size bed. The washbasin in the bathroom was so small you couldn`t wah your face in it. I`ve stayed in other London hotels for this price and they`ve all had larger (admittedly still not enormous) rooms and better bathrooms. Also the decor looked a bit tired and scuffed.

"Good hotel but the attention to detail let it down"

Good room (recieved a superia room), very spacious, but just a little noisy, due to traffic.Two small moans , a discarded breakfast tray with left over food was left on the floor opposite our room when we arrived, and was still there when we departed the next morning, and also the cooked breakfast,although a good choice, was not hot with the fried eggs being chewy having being kept for too long before being consumed.

"pleasant attentive service and a wonderfully comfortable bed"

Room compact but bearable due to comfort of bed and really good breakfast with pleasant and attentive staff, would definately be tempted to stay here again. A few minor problems with sink which was slow to empty and a heater which we were not able to work. Neither of these things were irritating enough to warrant not wanting to stay here again.

"Hotel excellent but there were a few problems, regarding hot water"

We enjoyed staying at the hotel, but there was a problem in the amount ot time it took for hot water to reach the room (at least 10 - 15 minutes whenever tap was turned). Also although daily delivery of newspaper requested this was not forthcoming - staff did however provide one when we asked.

The room was tiny we had to manoeuvre carefully between the sink and toilet and had to close the door to be able to sit on the toilet - not easy during the night. Ok for one night but not suitable for any longer. Very limited space. A suitcase rack in the wardrobe but where you were to put it I wouldn`t know.

Yes really enjoyed the stay we ended up with a disabled room though not sure why??But our other two friends had the best twin room with the robes and slippers.Breakfast was good would stay again but would like a different room though.

"Nothing to complain about."

We had 5 rooms booked for week end in London. We arrived early expecting just to leave our bags , but were checked in straight away. The staff were fantastic in all areas - particularly reception and the bar. The rooms were clean and modern and comfortable. there really was nothing that you could fault. Even the cookies were a surprise treat. An easy stroll from Euston and then an easy walk through to the Theatres. Can`t say enough - it was first class - well done.

no kettle in room for tea and coffee and also room was a bit crammed and stuffy apart from that pleasant stay, staff friendly and helpful
