Having just returned from this hotel, we would have no hesitation in recommending it to potential guests. Stunning views. Good sized bedrooms. Very comfortable beds and good facilities. All staff were very friendly, extremely pleasant and helpful. No complaints.

On arriving at the hotel we had trouble - they had no record of our booking through here. over all the rooms & hotel are stunning however we had afew problems with our room (broken window/shower/hadn`t been cleaned etc etc) but on complaining the manager couldn`t have been more helpful. He offered to have us moved but once the problems were fixed it was fine. He also gave us quite afew rounds of free drinks for any trouble coursed.I would def go back there again even with the problems.

"NOT A 5 STAR AFTERALL!"
LOATHED THE INTERIOR DECORATING. ASHFORD AND ADARE CASTLES SO MUCH BETTER. THIS FACILITY IS JUST ANOTHER MODERN ADAPTATION OF A SMALLER PERIOD BUILDING. LOW CEILINGS IN HALLWAYS LEND A CONFINING FEELING. WHY WOULD WE BE ASKED WHICH NEWSPAPER WE WOULD WANT IN THE MORNING - THEN NONE ARRIVED. WHY WOULD THE STAFF BE VACUUMING THE BAR CARPETING AT 7 PM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT WHEN NO DIRT WAS VISIBLE? WHY WOULD WE HAVE TO WALK 25 FT. TO THE BAR TO GET A SECOND DRINK WHEN THERE SEEMED TO BE PLENTY OF WAIT STAFF? WHY WOULD WE HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG AT DINNER FOR OUR BILL, WHEN WE ASKED THREE TIMES? WHY HAS SUCH A GORGEOUS SETTING BEEN IMBEDDED WITH SUCH A SECOND CLASS INTERIOR AND SERVICE?BIG MISTAKE THAT WE SHALL NOT MAKE AGAIN.

"Beautiful setting and great building and good rooms marred by patchy service. "
The Hotel is stunning and the location is perfect. However the standards of service and the quality of the food on occasion left me wondering about the 5 star rating of this Hotel. Its a real pity as some staff were incredibly helpful and were obviously interested in providing a quality service, but they were let down by their colleagues and the memory of bad service last much longer than that of the good.

Suggest change music at breakfast,(Star Wars not appropriate) Service exceptional, and food of good standard. Derrwin Suite is a must, facilities and view magnificent.. Will definitely visit again.

Hi, Not sure this is the right way of doing this - I`ll check my bank statement and revert but the hotel had no reservation for me when I arrive so I had to pay all over again. "Lovely hotel, though rooms look a little "tired". "
The service of this hotel does not warrant 5 stars. Breakfast was a buffet style but all the hot food was lukewarm.On the contrary it was impossible to get a cold soft drink a sthey were not refrigerated and could only be cooled down by adding lots of ice. The spa however was lovely and reasonably priced though 3 sunbeds (one of which was broken!) seems an inadequate number. I know this all sounds a bit picky but on the whole a nice hotel but not worth 5 stars.

"Fawlty Towers"
Bright room but holes in linen, trim hanging off lights, loo seat wobbly, no offer of morning newspaper. The room service was so bad that two of the three meals we managed to order not only came in one case nearly two hours late, but we had to accept whatever food was available as opposed to the room menus. As a result the staff seemed to be constantly embarrased.
