The renovation work was outstanding and the apartment was clean and well maintained. Hotel Direct, however need to make clear on the web site that the apartments are not based at the Queens Street address but are scattered throughout Edinburgh

I dont mind climbing stairs but I hate sprial ones, I am just pleased they were closed in as had they been open I would never had made it to the apartment as I am afraid of heights. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised as to how homely it was with a lovely light lounge with very comfy sofas. It had everything you need not that we got to use much of the facilities being that we were only there for the one night. I would recommend these apartments but I would tell them to ask for a lowere one if they had climbing difficulties. I would definitely book them again

The bathroom is amazingly medieval/modern. The location is fantastic as it couldn`t be more central for the old town. The spiral staircase is amazing if a bit tiring when carrying luggage up. Only downside is that it was quite cold. Would definitely stay there again though.

| Guest rating: | 14/11/2007 | | "Great location, helpful staff, mega access problems with no warning." | | | | 4 floor up narrow stone stairs - no warning - v. poorterrible TV reception - an indoor arial !!! in this day and age- better not to have a TVheater kept tripping and it was cold - the maintenance staff were v. helpful but it should not have been necessary.

But this was above a fish & chip shop on Grassmarket street, which became very noisy at night into the early hours of the morning maybe that was due to a taxi rank nearby. So as you can image having a larger apartment was great, but having interupted sleep for three nights was not so funny. I did ring you when I arrived home, to be told the booking was nothing to do with you and the fault was at the Edinburgh end. Surprise Surprise!!!! they blamed you. You rep was very understanding and gave me a email address to file my complait which I have missed laid, I would much apppreciate if you could forward it to me. Many Thanks

However, we couldn`t get the same apartment for our 4 night stay and had to move on the fourth night. That aside we were delighted when a rep came to our door with wine for us and apologies for the inconvenience and we didn`t have to carry our luggage to the new flat ourselves. It was carried for us! The apartments are amazing but you need to be fit! Would definitely stay again.
