Guest rating: | 12/5/2009 | | "Apex City Hotel perfect location" | | | | The hotel was very clean, bright and staff very helpful. No complaints about their food. Lovely restaurant and bar in hotel. The pubs, restaurants and quant shops just across the road. The royal mile just a couple of hundred yards away and the Princes Street Gardens. Located near all the major attractions. Massive view of Edinburagh castle from the front of the hotel. Just perfect

Guest rating: | 14/4/2009 | | "Excellent Stay at Apex City" | | | | The location of this hotel is perfect. Right beside the castle and Royal and only 10 mins from Princes Street. Across the road from the hotel are bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was excellent and the breakfast in the was great. My only complaint was the room was very warm.

Guest rating: | 1/12/2008 | | "Fantastic experience, highly recommended" | | | | We stayed 2 nights at the Apex City hotel and the staff were exceptional on arrival and throughout our stay. They actually welcomed us and took us to our room to explain features etc and we have never had this in the UK before. Breakfast was plentiful and you had a lot to choose from. If swimming or the gym is for you it`s only a 30 second stroll away.

Guest rating: | 3/11/2008 | | "First class and great location." | | | | The only problem with this hotel was the lack of parking spaces. On arrival we had to wait for a space to become available before we could check in, but apart from this small inconvenience i would definately use the Apex City again.

Guest rating: | 16/8/2008 | | "Warm and efficiency of welcome" | | | | Although we did not spend much time in the hotel, when we were there all staff encountered were extremely courteous and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Location very good.We are regulars at Festival and would consider using again but may look for a slightly better room rate and so end up elsewhere.

Guest rating: | 13/8/2008 | | "Food and staff excellent." | | | | Our first impression of the hotel was that it was scruffy. The outside is not attractive and the Reception and Bar area are small and somewhat untidy. However, the room was good and the food first rate.

Guest rating: | 9/3/2008 | | "Excellent central position, good variety nearby restaurants," | | | | Excellent new breakfast teapots avoid the tea tasting of coffee, as was the case when we stayed 3 to4 years ago.We got the last parking space at International on day of arrival and can see that parking may become an increasing issue.Car park space was a factor in our choice of hotel on both our visits. It appears that parking can be used by non-residents and personally, if this becomes common, I think it is a mistake if it makes it unavailable for residents. Apex city provides a good base for visiting the city and is comfortable and well appointed. We do prefer to eat `out`, apart from breakfast, as the dining area is rather bleak. However, the staff in the dining room are really helpful, friendly and very efficient.Reception staff also very approachable.

Guest rating: | 24/2/2008 | | "there were renovation works underway which meant the facilities were not 4 star :-(" | | | | there were renovation works underway which meant the facilities were not 4 star :-(.disappointing. I would not have stayed there had I known about this in advance. Also, there car park was out of commission and we had to park at the apex international car park which was tiny. a long wait for a parking space. In my opinion, a 4 star hotel should have plenty of parking spaces for their guests.

Guest rating: | 24/11/2007 | | "Not worth the money" | | | | Given a cramped room overlooking a back lane; only a wet-room - not a proper bathroom; realised we`d been given a disabled room but told there were no other rooms available. Whole bathroom flooded after a shower so has to use towels to mop up. Only good points were breakfast and location.

Guest rating: | 21/11/2007 | | " Was disappointed with view, as we had a view of the car park, was hoping for view of castle." | | | | Staff were very friendly, but it is overpriced. There were stains on the bedroom chairs which was very off putting we didn`t sit on them.

Guest rating: | 18/11/2007 | | "edinburgh apex city stay" | | | | staff were helpful [particularly the concierge] though we also dined at the apex international just a few doors away & I must say that their staff could look smarter &, sorry, but smell better too! as a couple of the dining staff did whiff some what & front of house does need a grooming! Not the image I would want for MY business. But over all a great stay, good location - recomend a room to the rear if you want a quieter nite as you can hear the revelers till the early hours

Guest rating: | 16/11/2007 | | "Surly Staff, poor food." | | | | The general standard and demenour of the staff was dreadful. I waited three minutes at reception whilst the booking clerk, two feet away from me worked on his computer without even acknowledging my presence. The dining room staff were moody and surly the cooked breakfasts were deadful, the management of the dining room/kitchen needs seroius attention. The room was comfortable, quiet and well equiped and housekeeping did a good job. Its location is great, its rooms fine but it has serious sfaffing issues.

Guest rating: | 15/10/2007 | | "Excellent location on grassmarket " | | | | The Apex is in a fab location, in our opinion better than on Princes St. The hotel was welcoming, very clean, with a modern twist but very informal. ALL the staff we met from reception. to restaurant , bar & 3 concierges were so helpful, friendly & relaxed. It was a real joy . Within 5 mins walk to the castle & 10 minutes to princes st & with graet bars & restaurants across the road from the hotel it was so convienient & easy. We forgot to book a restaurant for the saturday night, so at 6pm the concierge found us a lovely italian, booked the table & taxi & the meal at La Traviatta was srummy. By the way the open tour bus stop is just outside the hotel. Ii summary, would definitely recommend this hotele.

Guest rating: | 10/10/2007 | | "Clean, well furnished rooms with friendly staff. I would recommend this this hotel to others!" | | | | - Reception staff failed to provide me details of the pool and facilities on offer to guests.- I dislike not having shaving gear and toothpaste etc supplied in the rooms - given the pain of bringing these through the airport.- I dislike the e-booking route, and indeed do not like paying for the room in advance of the stay. I would prefer to be able to book direct with the hotel

Guest rating: | 22/9/2007 | | "All Round Very Good" | | | | My only beef would be noise from hotel staff either putting waste into a skip outside or the chamber maids yakking too loudly(which sort of kills the late lie in effect). That aside very clean, very functional, brekkie was great (at last a SOFT poached egg when requested). Would go back.
