"Give This One a Miss"
Tiny room.Unfriendly staff.Shower room needed cleaning and updating.Teaspoons needed at breakfast and with drinks making facilities.Breakfast needed to be more imaginative-wheaten bread perhaps instead of all sliced-mostly white.muesli as an option amongst cereals.Spoon on buffet taable for fruit!

"Gorgeous decor, lovely staff."
Booked a double room and was given a twin - was given option to swtich to a double but the room was a lot smaller. The TV channels didn`t work. However, the staff were very friendly and courteous, everything was spotlessly clean, gorgeous modern furniture, and room decoration. We were also able to park in a secure area and the hotel was perfectly placed near to Stephen`s Green.

"Overpriced"
I was a bit disappointed when I saw the room as it looked much better on the website. The bathroom was equal to the bathroom of a hostel and the Irish breakfast which was included in the price wasn`t really Irish. The room itself was nice but will definetely stay somewhere else next time.

"Lovely hotel and breakfast marred by getting clamped "
Hotel lovely, breakfast great. Advised to leave car and staff member would move into car park but ended up being clamped at 10pm. Would have been helpful if staff had advised this was a possibility and they did not intend to move vehicle until 10.30pm.

"Overpriced!"
Room 205 - Good Points: The Bed sheets were clean. Bad Points: No Hot Water, Dirty Bathroom, Sockets hanging off the walls, Bedroom window didn`t lock, chipped paint work. it has some nice furniture pieces but look beyond that an you will see that it is dirty and just not finished off, It looks like they have just papered over the cracks and when it`s not cheap you want what your paying for.

"A Good Choice for a Short Break"
Hotel only 10-15mins walk from Grafron Street and Temple Bar area. Room and bathroom recently refurbished, clean, modern, flat-screen TV in the room. Staff helpful and polite. Breakfast generally fine, through the cooked breakfast could be larger. Student night club next to the hotel, which could lead to noise till about 3am at the weekend

"WARDROBE AND SIZE OF BED"
We stayed in room 202 which was nicely decorated, small and compact which was managable in most ways with the exception of the bed and wardrobe. The wardrobe facility was an alcove which was not big enough to hang coat hangers in and was very awkward to use. I am also not happy that we booked a double room but were not given a room with a double bed, the bed was not big enough and as such the room should not be advertised as a standard double. I am not encouaged to book a hotel through your site again as I am left with the impression that I cannot trust the information relayed about the hotels/rooms.

"Handy for airport bus and city, but noisy"
Hotel next to night club so not much sleeping possible without shutting double glazing and overheating. Food good and service friendly. Shower temperamental. Room small

"Rooms too hot and area too noisey."
The staff were very nice, but we had a few problems:- The door lock was fiddley and caused other guests to come out and see what was going on.- The room was extremely warm and required the window to be left open.- We were on the 3rd floor and that means a lot of stairs to climb.- The street noise kept us awake until 3 am and then woke us again at 4 am. This was not only the partying (of which we had taken part in earlier in the evening), but fighting and traffic noise.- The shower varied from hot to cold and back again constantly and the shower tray filled with water, leaving me fearing a flood!- The television didn`t have any reception, but to their credit the hotel staff were quick to run up the load of stairs to sort it out.- Although the room is well styled and pretty clean (the bathroom was a bit rickety and had loads of cracks and gaps all around it), it was very very small for the £100 price tag.

"Tiny room, cold shower, glad we were only there for one night! Parking prices stupid. "
On the plus side, lovely breakfast!

"Rooms too small and breakfast functional only"
Wouldn`t like to be plus size and use the shower - there was no room to even escape the water to wash my hair. Breakfast was cooked but very disappointing - not what I would expect from this price bracket.

"No heating in room initially and very noisy club next door which kept us awake to 4.00am both nights"

"good location and helpful staff"
The hotel was a ten minute walk from the main shops and the staff were very helpful throughout. The room however, was very small and basic. On arrival our heating did not work, however, after two visits this was fixed for us.

"You get what you pay for"
Rooms were very small, and the breakfast wasn`t very good. Staff were pleasant and polite, although their English wasn`t great. It was a good location for exploring - especially the St Stephens Green / Grafton St area. For the money we paid, it was okay. I wouldn`t stay there again.

"Fairly central hotel. Fair but some problems."
Bathroom badly needed refurbishment - mould on ceiling, grout black and unpleasant, etc.

"Had a very pleasant stay and staff couldn`t do enough to help."
Good clean rooms, close proximity to central town and all facilities, and staff very helpful indeed, giving service that I rarely find in capital city hotels in this budget. I would certainly come back again! (Could do with a mirror over the dressing table next to the hair dryer!)

"Never Stay Here on Friday or Saturday Night - Street Drinking Noise Until 5am"
Room so small the bathroom door would not open. Impossible to enter from one side of the room. Noise like hell until 5am. Other guests noisy after midnight. Staff pleasant, but all were minor employees. No proprietor or managerial capability in evidence.

"Stylish, Clean, Great Location and vert warm and friendly reception all round - would recommend"
On arriving on our business trip in Dublin we had to organise car parking and the staff were really helpful and organised something for us. Though no official off road parking is advertised - they do have 3 or 4 spaces at the rear that you can sometimes get into if there are not too many guests with cars. The buildng is very traditional and full of character - really done nice. the rooms are very decent and comfy beds. And the big test...the showers are grea - plenty of power - no trickles! This was a supurb location for getting in and out of the city and for a shortish walk in and out.

"Comfortable, central, no frills."
Good - comfy bed, central location, off-street car parking, breakfast. Poor - damp and dank shower room, dirty windows & broken frame. Needs a little more loving?

"very reasonably priced, clean and friendly"
Cheap friendly service, room a bit cramped but clean and comfortable. Close to all facilities within walking distance. Breakfast was substansial. Stayed for 2 nights - no complaints

"Comfortable sleeping"
A suggestion that you put a top sheet on the beds, beneath the quilt. The quilt is far too hot in summer. To be able to sleep comfortably, either you have to take the quilt to pieces or sleep without anything covering you.On both occasions that we stayed, the staff were helpfuland friendly.I hope that this is helpful. "Directions to hotel from Seacat\Dublin Port"
It would be very helpful to a driver if you gave detailed instructions on how to negotiate the one-way street system around Dublin, or may be send a copy of the Tourist Guide map that you give to visitors to the named person who books the room. It took us two hours to reach the hotel from Dublin Port on the day we arrived!! We went round and round in circles. Every time we thought that we had `sussed` it and wanted to turn right, it was a one way street in the opposite direction! Everyone we asked was very helpful, but they were on foot. Even though we were in a car, we were still directed the wrong way down one-way streets! Going back to the Port on 2nd August, it was much easier because we had a map. There were no problems and we got it right first time. I hope that this is helpful. Roz Morris

"Very convenient for Dublin centre with many of the rooms now upgraded."
I enjoyed my stay - very helpful staff, new carpets on the stairs, and many of the rooms now upgraded. It will be quite `boutique` when it is all finished. Excellent position for walking everywhere in central Dublin.

"Leeson Downtown was a moderately priced place to stay for a short visit."
The hotel was a bit run down looking, however the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were fine but probably wouldn`t satisfy a hungry man! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. For a short stay in an excellent location I would recommend it.

"Position perfect for city break but a nightmare to find by car due to one way systems."
Hotel has obviously undergone refurbishment but not finished. No number on our room, TV did not work, lots of stairs to climb with luggage, no porterage, no lift. Breakfast OK but room in basement, little natural light anywhere. However, perfect position for reaching places to visit.

"Proper Mission!!!!!"
If you want to stay in this hotel, please be aware of the unfriendly srvice when you walk through the door. Although it looks upmarket at first glance, a closer inspection reveals the following. Unchartered rooms on stairs with no disabled access to the higher or lower floors. Old fashioned bathrooms. Extremely small twin rooms. Faulty door. No safe. No Irish Breakfast. Miscommunication between this website and hotel over a voucher . Club next door which allows no teens (although they all acted like them). The major factor for this hotel was the fact that it was miles away from the whole night life scene, meaning the temple bar, hence my title. So i would like to welcome you all the Leeson Downtown

"Good Location. Nice walk into the town.Converted georgian house"
Small room but very comfortable bed.perfect for a short stay in Dublin.Disappointing breakfast. Restaurants served better places for brunch where you could `people watch` outside.

"Adequate service but could be improved very simply."
The hotel and room were clean, well presented and good value. However I noted several things during my stay which could have improved it. Only one of the staff (the lady manning the desk on Sat evening) on reception or at breakfast actually smiled at us. I understand the odd mistake when the cleaning lady may have forgotten to replace toilet roll in our bathroom, but when I requested it be replaced as I went out for dinner a more appropriate response would have been to say "yes, we`ll replace it immediately" rather than "you can collect one when you get back." Cooked breakfast was rather meager and sausages were tiny.

"Small!"
Nearly fell over the beds when we got to our room as it was so small. Asked for a twin it may as well have been a double, you could`nt get get a matchstick between them! On saying that it was very clean, staff were very helpful. The secondary glazing was broken so if you are staying at the front of the hotel its very noisy. If we had to stay there again we would but would request a bigger room at the rear of the hotel. Enjoyable stay in Dublin though. :) **
