Gardeners across the country have been working hard this summer to produce the very best flowers and vegetables possible, battling constantly against testing weather conditions that have become a hallmark of this year`s unsettled season.

Any of those pleased with the fruits of their labour should head to London next weekend, where the Falconwood and District Horticultural Society is inviting people to its 75th annual show.

Taking place at the Falconwood Community Centre, in The Green off Hook Lane, Welling, on 18 August from 3pm, there are 90 classes for people to enter encompassing everything from house plants to vegetables and flowers, whilst there are even photography, cake making and children`s classes to embrace as well.
