In a piece of exciting West End gossip, an adaptation of the highly regarded production of Cats is set to feature in London next summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the stage spectacle is tipped for a run on the annual Regent`s Open Air Theatre in 2013, a development which is sure to please the millions of theatre fans across the country. The Andrew-Lloyd Webber production has been missed since its West End departure in 2012, which had become the longest running stage show on the acclaimed circuit at that time.
Based on the 14 poems of TS Elliot`s Old Possum`s Book of Practical Cats, the original stage adaptation featured back in 1981, complete with a stellar cast list that included Brian Blessed, Wayne Sleep and Elaine Page.
While it might only be a rumour as present, many will be sure to keep their ears peeled for more information. The show, if it returns, could potentially form the basis of one of the many
London theatre breaks available for the whole family to enjoy.
