In some fantastic news for live theatre, former Big Breakfast host Denise Van Outen wants a crack at the theatre whip, confirming she is in the process of writing her own musical. Her influence is said to have come from working on the casting television show for Andrew Lloyd Webber`s Over the Rainbow, a role which she was dropped from in 2010.

The disappointment doesn`t seem to have deterred her however, describing it as a Shirley-Valentine story when speaking in an interview regarding the development. Although a large bulk of the show is being kept a secret, sources believe it could have a similar storyline to that of Tell Me on Sunday, a musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber back in the seventies.

Van Outen also claimed that she does not plan to find her cast through a television series, firmly stating that she plans to be in a main role herself. While it is only in the early stages, it could potentially form a fantastic show to be enjoyed as part of one of the many London theatre breaks in the near future.
