A museum in London has opened an exhibition celebrating one of the most famous shoemakers of all time.

The Design Museum will play host to a display that remembers over 20 years of Christian Louboutin`s iconic products, such as the famed red-soled shoes, a popular choice amongst society`s well-heeled.

Focused heavily on the designer`s ‘showgirl` fascination, this intricate and dramatic display is expected to showcase more than 200 pairs of shoes, woven between extravagant red velvet sofas, neon lighting displays and a carousel display.

Curator Donna Loveday wanted the exhibition to go deeper and offer a more in-depth analysis instead of being a mere shoe display. She said: ‘When we started I knew that women adored his shoes but we wanted visitors to come away with an understanding of how he designs, what inspires him, and to look at his work in progress."

Running until Monday 9 July, it could be a great exhibit to drop in on whilst enjoying a soothing break in one of the fine London hotels this summer.
