Douglas Hodge has been tipped to feature on the West End stage to portray the role of Cyrano de Bergerac, as rumours begin to circulate around the show being taken to the capital. The news could mean another fantastic show to be enjoyed as part of one of the many London theatre breaks available.

While many theatre fans are already anticipating the arrival of Hodge in the production of Willy Wonka, the development means that the actor could be making an appearance on the famed theatre strip earlier.

He has already been earning a reputation as one of the leading stage actors in the world, with his current delivery of Cyrano de Bergerac at the American Airlines theatre on New York`s Broadway being lauded by both fans and critics alike.

Should the development surface as a reality, it will mean a busy few months for Hodge, with many questioning whether he has the time or energy to play the role before transforming into Willy Wonka when Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opens at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane next summer.
