The artistic roots of photography have been laid out for all to see in a brand new show at Britain`s National Gallery in London.

Titled `Seduced by Art: Photography Past & Present`, the display combines historical paintings, early photographs and contemporary pictures, whilst it also examines how photographers – from the very beginning up until the present day – sought to stand on the shoulders of artistic ancestors extending back to ancient Greece.

Organised into different sections, such as portraiture, landscape and still life, the exhibit includes almost 90 photographs alongside various paintings from the National Gallery`s collection and it represents a fantastic day out for any of the culture vultures heading to the city for a break in one of the excellent London hotels.

Just one of many hundreds of fascinating exhibitions taking place at an array of cultural institutions dotted around the city, it is little wonder London is one of the leading tourist destinations in the world.
