The London 2012 Olympic Games are coming good on their prophecy to bring more travellers to the capital according to the latest findings.
Provisional figures provided by the International Passenger Survey (IPS) showed visitor numbers to London were indeed up this year, with 3.5 per cent more visitor arrivals in the first three months of 2012 compared to year on year figures.
The Olympic Games aren`t just enticing more people from around the world to drop in and visit, they are also encouraging longer stays, with the number of nights visitors book in the UK up by 6 per cent, according to the data.
With 397,000 visits from North America, backed up by strong figures from France, Spain and Scandinavia, the opening weeks have been a successful start for the capital`s burgeoning tourism sector.
