The highest viewing platform in Europe is set to open to the public in the capital next year, with visitors able to view the city`s stunning skyline from an 800ft-high vantage point.

Aptly titled The View, it will be available on levels 68 to 72 of the brand new Shard building that stands tall over London and will offer 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape.

As part of their overall experience, visitors will begin their unforgettable journey at an exhibition of London history on the ground floor, before taking a lift 800ft upwards in just 30 seconds to the 68th floor.

Needless to say, extraordinary views of tourism favourites such as the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London and the Olympic Stadium will be available. Visitors can even go one step further and take the lift up to the highest point of The Shard and closely study the building`s impressive peak, which is 1,016 feet high.

Should you be planning a winter break in one of the fine London hotels next February, be sure to drop by this fantastic landmark and sample some sensational views for yourself.
