The time has come for keepers at London Zoo to perform one of their most difficult tasks of the year.
More than 16,000 creatures at the tourist attraction are being measured and weighed as part of a complex operation to monitor the health of various breeds residing at the zoo.
The scales and tape measures have been out in full force and from checking the weight of a baby penguin to measuring the tallest giraffe, London Zoo`s annual weigh in is a thorough evaluation of the health of each animal.
Once completed, the details of measurements are logged in the Zoological Management System, which is shared with zoos around the planet and helps zoologists to compare information on thousands of endangered species.
One of the most popular family friendly attractions in the capital, the zoo boasts an array of cuddly critters and big beasts. Come and check it out whilst enjoying a break in one of the fantastic
London hotels dotted around the city.
