The capital has finished top in a list of leading UK music venues, seeing off competition from the likes of Glasgow and Manchester, it has been revealed.
According to new figures released by PRS for Music, an organisation that collects royalties for songwriters and composers and analysed data of more than 10,000 live music events in 2011, the Southbank Centre in London was named the UK`s leading music venue, hosting 422 events which were attended by more than a million people.
Other London based live music hosts included in the top 10 UK venues are Ronnie Scotts, the O2 Academy in Islington and Kings Place, highlighting the capital`s importance to the live music circuit.
