A major exhibition featuring the works of French painter Edouard Manet is heading to London`s Royal Academy next year, it has been announced.
Aptly titled Manet: Portraying Life, the exhibition boasts more than 50 paintings that have been collected from public collections and private owners for the retrospective, which is the first of its kind in the UK.
Some of his most famous works will be on show, including an 1880 portrait of French journalist and politician Antonin Proust, and famous images The Railway and Mademoiselle Claus.
Mary Anne Stevens - the show`s curator - has promised ‘quite a lot of surprises` when it opens to the public at the Royal Academy in collaboration with the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio from 26 January to 14 April.
Just one of many fantastic cultural exhibitions and displays taking place in the capital over the coming months, it could represent a great day out for those enjoying a brilliant break in one of the fine
London hotels.
