A fascinating new show that has been 40 years in the making has opened at the Photographers` Gallery in London.

Tom Wood`s men and women exhibit has finally been unveiled at the capital`s famous institution and will run from 12 October – 6 January, charting the everyday lives of the people of Liverpool and Merseyside from 1973 and the start of this century.

Featuring striking images of unique characters, this substantial body of work encompassing an enigmatic era was put together by the committed photographer who spent five days of the week throughout the year on the streets or on a bus shooting some iconic images that now form the crux of this exhibition. His commitment to the art form soon earned him the nickname ‘Photieman` by those who knew them.

Come and check the exhibition out whilst taking a memorable cultural break in one of the excellent hotels in London over the coming months.
