Preparations for the Olympic Games are intensifying, and, with just 11 days to go until the opening ceremony, thousands of athletes and officials are beginning to arrive in the capital.
Around 120,000 passengers are expected to arrive at Heathrow Airport today, approximately 10,000 more than expected around this time of year. Visitors jetting over will get an immediate feel for the Games, after a waxwork figure of sprinter Usain Bolt striking his famous ‘To Di World` pose was unveiled at the airport.
The first priority Games Lane has also been opened on the M4, whilst 30 miles of dedicated lanes in the Olympic Route Network will be in use by the middle of the week.
There is a buzz around the capital, building rapidly as we edge ever closer to this historic event. Keep an eye out for any of your favourite athletes milling around the city should you be planning a stay in one of the excellent
hotels in London this summer.
