The National Portrait Gallery in London is to host a selection of historical portraits of the Royal Family - taken by celebrated photographer Mario Testino between 2003 and 2010 – for the first time this autumn.
`Mario Testino: British Royal Portraits` will be on display at the popular institution from 3 October – 3 February 2013 and will include the official engagement portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which was taken in London in 2010.
Other landmark portraits include Testino`s earliest image of HRH The Prince of Wales from 2003, and one commissioned to mark HRH Prince William`s 21st birthday.
Excitement is surrounding the up-coming display, with many art-lovers remembering Testino`s last major exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery – simply titled Portraits - in 2002, which attracted a record 168,069 visitors.
One of many enthralling cultural escapades to embark on in the city, it could represent a great day out for any of those planning a break in one of the excellent
hotels in London.
