In some dramatic news regarding the West End,
Shrek the Musical has announced its final performance, although it`s not set to be until February 2013. The development comes after the show announces a lengthy extension at the Theatre Royal just a matter of weeks ago.
It has been a relatively short-lived residency for the show, which first began wowing audiences at the Theatre Royal in June 2011, although in that time it has become one of the most popular shows on the circuit. Despite the departure, this isn`t to be the last time we see the production, with the team believed to be planning a UK tour in 2014.
The final curtain is set to be drawn on 24 February 2013, with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory acting as the perfect replacement. If you want to see Shrek and his friends before they depart the West End, be sure to catch the show as part of one of the fantastic
London theatre breaks.
