It has been announced that Stephen Tompkinson is to swap television for the stage, with the star set to make his stage debut in the Monty Python musical Spamalot.
Based upon the iconic film
Monty Python and the Holy Grail,it is steeped in hilarity and tells the comical tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table upon their arduous journey to find the famed religious relic.
Best known for stints in popular TV shows such as
Drop the Dead Donkey,
Ballykissangel and
DCI Banks, the move into the realm of stage theatre could potentially open up a brand new avenue in acting for Tompkinson.
