Sweeney Todd, one of the finest productions to grace the London stage this year, has been heavily praised during this year`s edition of the Theatre Awards UK, picking up three nominations at the coveted event.

A highly praised production, it has proved hugely popular during its run at the Chichester Theatre in the capital, with the Daily Telegraph describing it as one of the greatest musicals of all time. It was certainly a sad loss when the production finished its residency.

Despite no longer being a West End spectacle, it has triumphed at the Theatre Awards UK, standing alongside The Go-Between and Company for the Best Musical Production Award. Michael Ball is also up for an accolade for his stellar performance in the production, with fellow cast mate Imelda Staunton in the running for the same award.
