In some fantastic news for the West End, it has been announced that the production of The Lion King has extended its residency until mid 2013, giving plenty of opportunities for fans to catch the highly rated show as part of one of the unforgettable London theatre breaks available.

The Lion King will now keep its place on the West End until 30 June 2013, a development that is sure to only bolster the fantastic range of stage shows currently available.

An adaptation of the 1994 animated film produced by Walt Disney, the show first rolled out onto the stage of London`s Lyceum Theatre in 19 October 1999. Simba and the gang have celebrated their 13th anniversary on the West End, making the show the 9th longest running production in the history of the famed theatre strip.

With a stellar cast list featuring the likes of Shaun Escoffery and George Asprey starring as Mufasa and Scar respectively, it looks to provide an incredible spectacle in the capital for years to come.
