Thirty-five years ago, the Queen opened the Jubilee Gardens to great fanfare, transforming the site from its use as a car park, which also played host to the Festival of Britain in 1951.

Her Royal Highness may be feeling a sense of déjà vu then, after she revisited the landmark to reopen the green space and introduce a £5 million facelift, which is intended to create a ‘new green landmark` for the capital.

The park has undergone a dramatic transformation, with grass and flower beds lined with granite blocks to create seating, new granite paths have been laid, whilst lighting and a fun new children`s playground has also been introduced.

Lying close to the London Eye, it is yet another impressive addition to the city`s acclaimed cultural and activity landscape.

Come and check the gardens out whilst enjoying a break in one of the excellent hotels in London over the coming months.
