Another great summertime staple is quickly approaching, the Buckingham Palace summer opening starting July 23rd, which once again will provide a fantastic day out for anyone staying in London hotels.

You may find it difficult to imagine what it must be like to attend one of the many official events at the palace but the opening provides a fascinating look into the rooms that these events take place in.

The Grand Hall is a beautiful room featuring the royal thrones, that many comment on their seeming modesty, the music room often draws comment from it’s charming decoration and the ceilings and decorations throughout are breathtaking. The palace is also packed with many fantastic works of art by many artists including Rembrandts, Rubens and Vermeers.

The special exhibitions this year will also feature a collection of masterpieces by the Russian jeweller Carl Fabergé, including the very popular Sarah Burton-designed dress worn by Kate Middleton at the royal wedding.
