Work by entrants for this year`s Turner Prize, the best-known award for modern art, have gone on display at Tate Britain in London.

Some of Britain`s most gifted artists under the age of 50 will be competing for the prestigious prize, which is designed to recognise the best exhibition to have taken place around the UK over the last 12 months.

Four artists are going head to head for the accolade, with visual artist Paul Noble – currently the bookies` favourite to win – joined by Elizabeth Price, Spartacus Chetwynd and Luke Fowler.

The exhibition will run at the gallery until 6 January 2013, with the winner of the Turner Prize announced on Monday, 13 December.

Just one of many fantastic exhibitions taking place in the capital over the coming months, it could represent a sensational cultural day out for the whole family whilst taking a break in one of the excellent London hotels.
