The production of War Horse has been a breath of fresh air since arriving on the West End back in 2007. It celebrated a milestone of performances last week, with a raft of special guests being invited to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the show.

As well as former members of the production returning to the stage, they were joined by the creator Michael Morpurgo who originally penned the tale as a novel in 1982.

It has been showered with praise and plaudits during its run in the capital, being on the receiving end of two Olivier Awards and welcoming its one millionth audience member back in 2011.

The tale has been more recently adapted for the screen, with the motion picture directed by Steven Spielberg nominated for six Academy Awards, two Golden Globes and five BAFTAS in 2011.

With War Horse currently showing at the New London Theatre until the 31 August 2013, why not treat yourself to a viewing as part of memorable theatre breaks in London before it`s too late?
