If anybody was thinking that the appeal of the West End was beginning to diminish, think again! The famed theatre strip has enjoyed another year of breaking records, after it confirmed its eighth consecutive rise in revenue in as many years.

It`s clear the public have been keen to see world class shows such as Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia and Stomp, with a staggering £528 million taken during the last 12 months. The information was taken from the annual box office report published by the Society of London theatre (SOLT), it collects all the revenue data from the 51 venues across the capital.

The news is fantastic for the renowned theatre strip, showing that the boom of stage theatre isn`t looking to end anytime soon. The record returns could also pave towards more fantastic plays or musicals to feature on the strip, allowing them to be enjoyed as part of more fantastic theatre breaks in London in the future.
