About the competition

*The Competition is now closed, please do not submit an entry as it will not be accepted. We are in the process of judging the Star for a Day entries*

Love the theatre? Love writing about the theatre? We want to support the best theatre writers and most creative bloggers the UK has to offer, by hosting a writing competition giving you the chance to show off your ingenuity. All you need to do is create a themed day out in London, based on your favourite current West End character and become a STAR FOR A DAY!

If you have a blog then you can be in with the chance to win a brilliant day out in London for you and a friend.

How to enter

For your chance to win your Star for a Day trip, simply follow the steps listed below:

  1. Create a Star for a Day Itinerary post on your blog which must include the following:
    • Character from a current West End Show (play or musical)
    • 1 day time activity
    • 1 pre-show activity (restaurant/bar etc.)
    • West End Show
    • 1 post-show activity
  2. Include a 200 word description of why you choose these activities and how it relates to your chosen character.
  3. Submit your Entry by sharing the URL of your blog post in the Entry page below.
  4. Share your entry on Twitter using the #STARFORADAY

The winning entry will get to see their London character itinerary bought to life for them and a friend with a night’s stay in a West End hotel.

The winner of the competition will be the most creative and entertaining Star for a Day itinerary and blog post. Hotel Direct’s marketing team will choose the top entries which will be hosted on the website for the public to vote for and choose who wins the prize. For inspiration, you can see what James Backway, the lead role in War Horse chose as his London Itinerary here. We will announce the top entrants on Tuesday the 7th of July.
