The show is based loosly on the film but obviously with theatre restrictions some things do need to change. the scen where Billy dance with older Billy is mesmerising. the one thing i did not appreciate was being jammed in a seat like a sardine, i am 6`2" and the upper circle has seats designed for midgets.. i had to almost sit sideways to fit. I tried to upgrade my tickets at 7 oclock when i collected them but was told i would have to wait until 10 minutes before the curtain to see if i could, but wanting to have a drink before the show i didnt bother.. big mistake, i should have waited."

Although there is a prewarning to expect some bad language, I think there was actually far too much, and could have been toned down somewhat, yet still been as effective.
There is a danger that the audience are left with the impression that the level of bad language delivered is representative of all North East folk which it certainlly is not. I personally am from the North East and was truly shocked at some of the words used by both adults and children alike in the cast!"

I do understand that swearing by children is integral to the script/story line but once again a little OTT.
Noise level a tad high - I am sure they could lower it a couple of db`s.
Would I recommend - yes I would - but not for everyone. Would I take my neices and nephews aged 7 to 11 - no.
Re the 20% headline - too long a show. As there is an abundance of quality and talent they could reduce the duration of the show so you are walking out at 10 instead of 10:30 ish (having started at 7:30). The film was not an epic but the show is; it does not need to be."

I think the whole audience warmed to him within minutes of the start of the show. The rest of the cast were pretty good, especially grandma. Sandra was a bit of a let down, but like Jamie, Julie Waters is also very hard to beat."
