This play tells the tale of a farming community and a young man who sells his horse to the army. Taken to France the horse is captured by the Germans and has a series of adventures. The action involves the main horse (also as a foal), several other horses and numerous birds. The animals are full sized shire type horse worked by three amazingly tallented puppeteers. It really is hard to remember they are not live animals with extraordinary attention to detail and the play is an unforgettable and awe inspiring experience. The cliche is "not to be missed" but it should not be."
