History of We Will Rock You
Queen's manager apparently talked to the band about creating a musical in the 90s with a concept centred around Freddie Mercury's life. Ben Elton started writing an alternative musical in 2001 with an original story that incorporated the band's music. The show opened at the Dominion Theatre in 2002, where it has been running since. We Will Rock You has played around the world in countries as far afield as South Africa, Japan, Spain and Australia.
