The Show
The most beloved rock musical of all time is back! 44 years after Freddie Mercury's legendary Royal Ballet performance at the London Coliseum, the music of Queen has returned to the same theatre for just 12 weeks. Set in a distant dystopian future where musical instruments are outlawed and conformity is law, We Will Rock You is the story of two rebellious misfits, Galileo and Scaramouche, who are drawn together by their shared visions of a better, brighter, more musical world. Inspired to revolt by the long-lost songs of a certain moustachioed rock legend, the pair lead a group of music-loving rebels in battle against the all-powerful Globalsoft Corporation and its leader, the vile Killer Queen. A hilarious romp featuring 24 classic Queen songs including 'Don't Stop Me Now,' 'I Want to Break Free' and 'Under Pressure,' this glamourous rock opera is sure to delight audiences with its long-awaited return to the London stage.

History of We Will Rock You
The idea for a Queen-based musical was first conceived by the group's long-time manager Jim Beach. Beach, along with Queen's world-renowned guitarist Brian May, collaborated with comedian Ben Elton (creator of Blackadder) to create a show that captured the essence of the group's incredible songs. The show was an instant hit with audiences following its opening performance at the Dominion theatre in 2002 and ran for another 12 years and over 4000 performances. Its current West End run is its first since the show closed in 2014.

Awards and What the Critics Say
Performing in 28 different countries over 21 years, We Will Rock You has won awards all over the world; its 2004 Australian performance netted 9 Helpmann Award nominations and won 5, including Best Music Direction. Reflecting the show's longstanding popularity with audiences, in 2011 the UK run won a Lawrence Olivier Audience Award for Most Popular Show.

Interesting Facts About We Will Rock You
We Will Rock You was originally conceived as a musical biography of Freddie Mercury, but writer Ben Elton felt that the zanier, more irreverent storyline was a better expression of Queen's rebellious spirit. The show's original run, from 2002 to 2014, was the longest ever at the Dominion Theatre.
