Getting there:
Arrive by air into either Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci airport 32km from city or Ciampino airport 15km from city.
Getting around:
Rome offers 2 metro lines, Line A red line and Line B blue line, and their entrances are indicated by a large red sign marked with an M. There will be signs in both the station and on the train showing the stops along the route. Your ticket will be validated when going through the turnstile. La Rinascente was the first department store to open in Roma in 1887. It`s current name evolved in 1917 when it was called this by the famous Italian poet Gabriele D`Annunzio after a serious fire ( Rinascente means "that is reborn") The architecture by De Angelis has remained unchanged. It is the most upmarket store in Rome and prices are not cheap. Nevertheless, it is worth going there for off-the-peg clothes, household linen, luggage and the perfume counters. It has a well stocked men`s section and offers a good selection of ties and shirts.
